Heritage Dialogues is a series of international and interdisciplinary creative workshops dedicated to the resilience and beauty of the heritage of coastal landscapes and villages in Norway, Estonia, and North Europe. The programme includes subprogrammes on architecture and heritage conservation, music and arts, and local livelihoods and traditions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arnstein Brekke, leader of the Heritage Dialogues project and conservation officer in Bod\u00f8 municipality, emphasizes the significance of coastal heritage: &#8220;The festival aims to highlight the resilience and fragility of coastal cultures and ecosystems in a changing world, fostering connections between places and people from across Europe. The festival is set in the unique heritage landscapes of Misv\u00e6rmarka, Lj\u00f8nes village, Giv\u00e6r, and Fleinv\u00e6r islands. In collaboration with local communities, participants will explore the coastal village&#8217;s heritage \u2014its nature and culture, past and present, histories and people, buildings and lifestyles, handicrafts and arts, voices and music.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ave Paulus, international coordinator of Heritage Dialogues and heritage expert from the Estonian coast: \u201eAmong the 50 active participants of the festival are besides Norwegians heritage experts and architects from Estonia and Nordic countries, musicians and artists from up to Faroe islands. All share a deep appreciation for coastal culture and a love for the sea.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open festival days consist of several seminars, exhibitions, roundtables, walks, and concerts. \u201ePitesamiske stemmer\u201c on 28.07 resonates with Pite Sami heritage \u2013 stories, buildings, music, language, places and people. 31.07 festival in Lj\u00f8nes is dedicated to coastal landscapes, fjords, buildings, and climate change. Heritage Dialogues open festival day on Giv\u00e6r on 2.08 and deals with coastal livelihoods, histories, heritage and communities. 3.08 roundtable and concerts in Fleinv\u00e6r island conclude the festival week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The open festival days are free of charge and open to all, both in-person and online. Due to the small size of the venues, prior registration is required. The events will be live-streamed on the festival homepage and Facebook.
